WVU Dining Services invites students and guests to attend three uniquely themed events at the dining halls this month. We’ll be celebrating the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day with extra special menus.
- Sunday, February 11: Super Bowl Tailgate Lunch – Stop by the dining halls for lunch to get fueled up before the Super Bowl. Starting at 11 a.m., the dining halls will feature a nacho bar, hot dogs, pretzels, potato salad, coleslaw and more.
- Tuesday, February 13: Mardi Gras Dinner – Celebrate Fat Tuesday with bold New Orleans flavor. Starting at 4:30 p.m., Café Evansdale will offer Cajun favorites like fried catfish, Jambalaya, shrimp po’boys, king cupcakes and more.
- Wednesday, February 14: Valentine’s Day Dinner – Skip those long restaurant waits and enjoy some Italian fare. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the dining halls will have various pasta dishes and other special items, like chicken marsala, eggplant parmesan hoagies and roast beef.
In addition to these special meals, there will be a birthday celebration on Friday, Feb. 16 to celebrate those born during the month of February. Grab a slice of cake at 2 p.m. to celebrate.

Café Evansdale will be closed between 2 and 4:30 p.m. for the Mardi Gras dinner, and all three dining halls will be closed between 2 and 4:30 p.m. in preparation for the Valentine’s Day dinner. During that time, diners on the Evansdale campus can grab something to eat at locations such as Park Place or Evansdale Crossing. Those students who are on the Downtown campus can find open dining options at the Mountainlair food court.
