WVU Dining Services to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Dining halls and restaurants at West Virginia University will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the week of March 15.

The dining halls will serve St. Patrick’s Day-inspired foods on Wednesday, March 17. For dinner, Café Evansdale will have beef stew, red cabbage and carrots, shepherd’s pie, red and whipped potatoes, corned beef Rueben, a Luck-O-The-Irish Mocktail, and make-your-own Shamrock Parfaits. Summit Café will have corned beef and cabbage, parslied new potatoes, shepard's pie and a traditional Rueben for dinner.

For lunch, Hatfields will serve corned beef, fried cabbage and onions, colcannon, vegan Irish stew and Soda Bread Pudding. All three dining halls will have themed cupcakes, mint chip cheesecake bars, cookies and green Jell-O.

Free homemade St. Patrick’s day treats provided by WVU Student Life will be available throughout the day on March 17 in front of Jazzmans at the Mountainlair and Jazzmans at Cavanaugh’s.

Half-price specialty green-and-minty milkshakes will be offered between March 15-21 at Hugh Baby's.

A ground meat pie with a topping of oven-toasted, creamy mashed potatoes

Traditional Reuben

A grilled sandwich composed of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing between slices of toasted rye bread
