How to Select Your Dining Plan

Welcome WVU, newly accepted students! We're already planning ahead to August for your arrival to campus, and odds are, if you're reading this website, you are too. Below, you'll find the simple set of steps you'll need to take to officially select your WVU Dining Plan.

Step 1: Claim your WVU Student Account

Most of WVU's systems are accessed using the same set of login credentials. Students can activate their credentials by visiting login.wvu.edu and selecting the "Claim Account" option. Once a student has claimed his or her Student Account, they will be able to log into the majority of WVU's databases, including housing, dining, email, financial aid, and more. Once you have your WVU Student Account, move on to the next step.

Step 2: View your Dining Plan options

WVU Dining offers four Dining Plans for students living in official WVU Residence Halls. The newly formed Seneca Hall, although located in the University Place complex, is still counted as a WVU residence hall. Students not living in a WVU Residence Hall have two additional Dining Plan options. All WVU Dining plans are listed at the bottom of this page. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with your options and WVU Dining policies.

Step 3: Select your Dining Plan

Once you have browsed your Dining Plan options, visit WVU's Student ID card website, mymountaineercard.wvu.edu. When you arrive on campus, your Mountaineer Card will serve a number of functions, including student ID, PRT and bus rides, and Dining Plan access. Log in with your student ID. You'll see the option "select Dining Plan" on the left sidebar. Follow the prompts, choose your Dining Plan, and you will be set for the fall! Pricing provided is the estimated cost for dining plans during the 2017-2018 academic year and is subject to change.

Extra Notes
  • Dining Plans will be billed to student accounts in July, 2017, along with official tuition, housing, and fee assessments. So incoming students can sign up, but there's no need to pay today!
  • Students will have the opportunity to select their plan at New Student Orientation.
  • The deadline to choose a Dining Plan is June 29th. At this deadline, all students who haven't chosen a plan will be given the Blue Plan.
  • WVU Dining is excited to welcome all students, including those with a food allergy or intolerance. Please visit the allergy section of our website for more information on campus dining with special diets.
  • In January of 2017, WVU announced that Arnold Hall will be closing, and new housing will be opening up to students in the University Place complex. This new housing unit, called Seneca Hall, is considered a WVU residence hall. Students living in Seneca Hall will be required to pick from one of the four dining plans available to all students living in WVU residence halls. The upperclass elite and upperclass express plans are not available options.
